————Class 1 Study Brief (Part 1)
The previous humanistic education camp changed us a lot. There were 798 participants in the 1st camp and more than 600 participants in the 2nd camp. The 3rd camp involved the entire company staff member including the new recruit. Each camp is full of surprises. What about this one? We’re all very curious.
The camp unveiled itself on July 22th. Everyone packed up and move in the Elite Apartment. It’s an all-closed camp. The plan was moving into apartment on 13:30. However, our volunteer car drivers started early at 12:00. They helped each other load off the luggage and carried them upstairs. It’s quite a busy scene. We made this place more lively and vibrant.
To give is to gain. The new recruit hadn’t learned about Sage’s education but they were already aware of it. They arrived two days ago at the Happy Company Promote Center to help volunteers with learning material bags of the 3rd camp.
Each time we hold a camp, our family leader is the busiest one and the one who smiles most. He’s also the happiest one.
Look! Who’s coming that way? No one would know that our family leader would come in time to live with us.
Today chairman Wu gave us role model of “pack and live” with a simple hand bag containing everything he needs for the upcoming 5.5 days camp. We all should learn from him about sorting up and living simple.
Look at other family members. See how well-prepared we are. We all had a lot of dorm experience by the looks of us.
A lot of us hadn’t done group living for more than 10 years. This camp seemed to bring the time back to school time.
GM Teng got a hair cut day before the all-closed camp. A new start from the head. Mr. Teng joined in the 5.5-day-camp with a new image.
Our volunteers waited by the apartment and guide us in with good patience. They ran up and down for more than 20 times in the 5-floor apartment during the whole check-in.
Many of us wouldn’t believe that chairman Wu could sort up so clean and tidy.
He actually dis this to a simple handbag. That’s what a real role model looked like. Sometimes when he was on a business trip, he shared room with other chairmen. They were all touched by his practice and started doing housework back home. They learned about treating everything with respect. Chairman Wu also did so in Daxin county when he lived in the student dorm.
Our family leader not only did well but also spared time teaching other family members. He’s such a role model.
Manager Jiang lives far away with 2-hour-bus ride. She has to take care of her parents who’s more than 80 years old. However, she made good arrangement and managed to check in early.
Look at our camp buddies! We fixed up the bunk, mosquito net, air-conditioner and everything.
Before we set off to Mingde Hall. While we’re waiting for the bus, chairman Wu led us to recite Standars for Students together.
Volunteers were checking every dorm to make sure every family member arrived.
Chairman Wu’s speech on opening of the 3rd humanistic Education Camp:
When we learn traditional culture our family benefit first because above all traditional culture requires us to be filial to our parents and to fully fulfill our responsibility. And then other people. Through this camp we first want every staff member to learn to fulfill filial piety. To feel it even though we’re not around our parents. Second, to be the role model to our children. Third, to learn to teach our children. Fourth, to learn to respect. And extend the respect to people, to work and to our clothes, daily articles and everything. We should learn to respect household articles and public articles. We should learn to bow to Confucius portrait. We should learn to organize our rooms. Start with our dorms and our home. Extend 5S from home to workshop, to our desk and drawers. Fifth, we should learn to not only recite Standards for Students, but also practice Standards for Students. And at last to learn to save water, power and fuel.To use less chemicals. To be less time-consuming , more efficient and less rework. We should better organize our volunteers. They need to learn why to be a volunteer. We are not just taking orders. We volunteer. We are teachers. We have a sense of responsibility.
We are practicing some of the teachings from the Standards for Students. ”Praising the goodness of others is a good deed in itself. If people hear they have been praised, they will want to improve even more. ””There never is anything good in talking of others' shortcomings.” We should not speak ill about other people or talk about people’s misdoing. We should see the goodness in people and learn from it. We will be close to our teacher theses days. “To follow the truly humane will bring immeasurable good. Unworthy people come forward; everything will be ruined.” I think we ought to practice these teachings.
We live in the dorm for 5.5 days during this camp. Company rented new dorms and arranged vehicles for us. I want everyone to cherish this opportunity. I know some of you may feel not comfortable in this environment. But I say it’s a good time to train us. We overcome difficulties as we grow up. Adversity make us grow up, not comfort. Comfort makes us arrogant.
I was in the dorm today. I saw I was the only one in the room. I said no. I insisted I live with other family members. And particularly with good snorers. Why? That’s called self-accomplishment. If I live with the loudest snorers, wouldn’t it be a good trial? Wouldn’t it be nice if I manage to sleep well and get alone well? (Group applause)
Let’s say, in the future, when we are on business trip we’d be easy to live with anyone. Snoring wouldn’t be bothering us anymore. Think this, you’re the one who couldn’t sleep while the snorer sleeps well. You need training to fix this. Training like this enable us to get alone with anyone. Two years ago, I shared a room with a world class snorer. No one would do this. But I said I would. So I did. And we ended up being good friends. I had a little hard time at first night. But then I kept telling myself that it was nice and I needed this training. I lie down listening to Mr’s Cai’s lecture and just fell asleep. Later when we were in Daxin. Seven of shared the student’s dorm. Three snorers. And we were fine. I am telling that now I like to sleep with snorers. It’s training and self-discipline. I am happy with that.
Now why we are turning off or leaving our cellphones while we are learning?
There more and more disasters on the earth. Why do they happen? Disasters reflect mankind’s desire, our thoughts. Our exceeding desire is causing more and more waste. Now we cannot live without cellphones. What if disaster comes and cut off all the communication? What do you do? You practice now! You see I just turned in my cellphone. The biggest trial for us in the upcoming 5.5 days is quitting cellphone. Be thankful! Thank this opportunity. Think when disaster comes, we’d sleep in public. After 3.11 earthquake in Japan, more five thousand people shared the floor of a gym in the night. Hundreds would snore. If it were you, would you stay up all night or go to sleep? We need to train now. Disaster is not far away. It’s lurking around. And it will break out out of sudden. What are we waiting for? The cellphone we carry around everyday is no longer just a phone. It’s a computer. Some cellphone has dual SIM cards, then you carry one more phone. And a camera. Maybe you’ve got used to it. Actually it’s harmful. Real harmful. We should get used to live without cellphones. Why? We need to settle down. You put your cellphone in your pocket when you’re learning. You’ll intend to wonder if there’s a message coming in or you miss a call. These intentions disturb your and people around you as well. And it will spread. Intentions have energy. You’ll find out in the future. Some scientists have proved that matter has intention. So in order to learn well, we should put away cellphones unless there’s emergency.
What is real happiness? Environment improves people. Environment changes people. Environment educates people. We should be committed to it. I hope we all settle down and rest our mind. Some one asked me: does learning traditional culture render R&D personnel less innovative? The one who asked this question is a company owner who has more than 150 thousand employees. I told him it won’t strap them up. On the contrary, it would enormously unleash them. More ideas and products would come out. Where does wisdom come from? It comes from the inner “peace”- the absence of distracting thoughts. Let’s say we all have wisdom. We’re like a shining bulb. However, it got stained by cooking fume in the kitchen and turned black. The cooking fume is distracting thoughts. When we are learning we get rid of distracting thoughts as wash off the cooking fume. The wisdom will be gradually recovered. So the real happiness is getting rid of these distracting and petty thoughts.
We were listen to Mr. Cai Lixu’s Harmony Makes Wealth afterwards.
Thank our brother Cao Jun who stayed with us all the time.
Thank you for capturing great moments for us.
Why we’re sitting here? humanistic Education!
What’s the purpose and meaning of life?To know virtue and acquire wisdom!
What’s the goal of our company? To guide everyone to happiness! To be role models!
We are all here out of the same course and belief.
When all the family member were listening to class, volunteers were working on the clean and tidy environment.
While we were heading to lunch, they were bowing to us and wishing us a good meal.
For us reporters, it’s a big challenge to resist the good. Reporters by the dining table said, “the smell keeps coming at me and nothing could stop.”
Isn’t it a great thing for us to enjoy such good meal every day?
Family members who works the kitchen are the most committed. When we were in the classroom, they were doing their parts all the time.
Every day the chef prepare the good food for us and waited upon our arrival. They were all exhausted after a day’s work.
We were saying thanksgiving words before before every meal: Thank the country! Thank our parents.
After class, there weren’t enough room for all of us on the bus. To avoid waiting and also to save the bus drive’s time, chairman Wu suggest go back on foot while waiting for bus. We saved time as well as excised our body.
